Woodturning
is an art that involves shaping a piece of wood while it revolves
on a fixed point. Various tools such as chisels and gouges cut the
wood while it spins at high speeds on a lathe. This process transforms
seemingly ordinary chunks of wood into beautiful pieces of art or
useful implements such as bowls and candlesticks.

the two. I like to incorporate my lapidary art into my woodturnings.
I shape semi-precious stones (cabochons) to be inlaid into the lids
of boxes. I also dabble with wood carving as I strive for the magical
transformative process...Abracadabra I turn the wood into a cat!
